Hornby Denman Health provides short-term equipment loans for commodes, wheelchairs, walkers, bath chairs and more. Our goal is to ensure Island residents have access to critical equipment when needed most and to help remove any financial barriers to accessing these items.

This program is made possible by the gracious donations of community members and some assistance from BC Gaming.

Our partner, Quadra Circle on Quadra Island, is helping to introduce and coordinate this program on Cortes, Denman and Hornby Islands, and there are more details on their website.

Seniors – Day Program

Connect with Peers in a Fun, Supportive Environment

This program is right for individuals who:

  • Enjoy a good conversation in a quieter, small group setting

  • Are looking for an easy-access environment and activities suitable for lower mobility

  • Are interested in committing to a regular outing

Social connection is essential to good health. Enjoy good conversation plus a hot meal from some of our islands’ favourite cooks. The activities are determined by the interests of the group. Stretch your legs with some guided chair yoga or tai chi, join in a competitive game of cards with a friend, or learn something new on topics of interest. Participants are encouraged to bring their ideas.

Transportation is coordinated where required.

Contact our Care Coordinator to register at (250) 792-5889 or email Care Coordinator.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with setting up, serving food, cleaning up, driving and more.

Seniors – Transportation

Please give us as much notice as possible and we will do our best to assist you.
